With over 141 million motorised vehicles across the country, Indonesia faces significant challenges from transport-generated emissions. In 2021, 135.7 Mt CO2 were emitted solely from people's mobility, with 88.4% of this coming from oil fuel usage.
To address these emissions, Indonesia’s Ministry of Transportation aims to electrify 90% of the nation’s public transport fleet by 2030. Additionally, ViriyaENB is partnering with think tanks and research institutions to analyse scenarios that effectively minimise emissions from fuel use.
