Ninuk Mardiana Pambudy is a widely-known journalist working for Kompas, the biggest national newspaper in Indonesia, since 1984. She has served as the Senior Editor since she was appointed as editor-in-chief (2018-2020), the only female chief editor of Kompas up to now. During her journalistic career, Ninuk has been appointed as the acting editor for science and health, editor for Kompas Sunday edition, editor of the investigative desk, and then deputy editor in chief. In 1999, Ninuk established Swara, a Kompas news supplement that covered issues of women and gender.

In addition, Ninuk is currently on the Supreme Court Reform advisory team (2021-2024). She is also a member of the expert council of the Coalition of Indonesia Women in Parliament and the Indonesia Agronomists Association. She also serves as the Head of Kompas Gramedia Pension Fund. Ninuk holds a bachelor's degree in agronomy from Bogor Agriculture University and a master's degree in women and gender studies from Universitas Indonesia.
