Ilham Habibie is a co-founder, shareholder, and Chairman of PT. ILTHABI Rekatama, a private investment holding company in Indonesia, consisting of various companies in the oil & gas, energy, mining, manufacturing, aerospace, ICT, property, and financial services sectors. He is also a co-founder of the International University Liaison Indonesia. Other portfolios include the Chairman of PT. Visi Media Asia Tbk (VIVA), Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Habibie Center, a Commissioner at PT. Nusa Halmahera Mineral (Halmahera – Indonesia), Founder and Commissioner of PT. Tresno Investama International, and Commissioner at PT.

Ayoconnect Teknologi Indonesia. Ilham currently heads WANTIKNAS, the National ICT Council of Indonesia, as its Chief Executive. He also heads the International Chamber of Commerce Indonesia, the Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneur Association, and the Agency for Research and Technology at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. At the end of 2021, he was elected vice chairman of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia and co-chairman of F20. Ilham’s earlier professional background is with aerospace companies (IPTN, Indonesia; Boeing, USA). Before that, he was an Assistant Professor for Fluid Mechanics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. Ilham holds a Doktor-Ingenieur title in Aeronautical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, USA.
